v0.999
SAD GOD » Devlog
All modes have been revised.
- In plus modes (+Normal and +Harcore), mobs no longer have double health. Instead ALL mobs have new behaviours. Eg: Jumpers can double jump. Lobbers can fire homing shots. Most special moves take a few turns to trigger, giving you a chance to avoid them and them a chance to surprise you. Bosses retain their +60% health bonus, remaining unchanged apart from spawning deadlier mobs.
- In normal mode the heart altar now restores all health. In plus mode it restores one health like the good old days.
- The game is now 8 levels long. You meet your first fire snake on level 4, and the first boss on level 5. The pacing of the game has been bugging me for a while and simply removing what used to be level 4, made for a nice curve.
- Spicy shots from red altars like ROT and AHH will only appear in plus modes, where skilled players can figure them out.
- Except GON, which stays in normal modes, where casual players can get lucky and skip the boss.
- PUF has been buffed. It now bounces off the floor like ZIG, adding some much needed utility to its short range.
- FAN has been "promoted" to spicy. It's not easy to use.
- Some UI tweaks, including an indicator for what your next level up provides.
- Coins in boss chunks are reduced. Since xp is split evenly among the coins, this will help one complete a build before the fight.
- Adjustments to problem chunks.
- More chunks, including 2 new multiboss fights.
- Many bug fixes.
- Press Ctrl+P to save screenshots. These are saved to the app's folder.
The game is very close to its final form. Though I feel like there is further balancing required, as well as many more chunks. I've also thought of two new shot ideas - one doing more damage the lower your health, a mechanic sorely missing among the shots.
