New shots and a new boss in this update:
- The boss dasher operates similar to its smaller variant but pulls a 90 degree turn halfway through its dash to find a new surface. This means there is also a new multi-boss fight.
- CUT operates like SAD but releases a second shot on death that phases through walls and ledges but not mobs.
- DOT leaves a trail of short lived floating mines. (Inspired by the Amazon's poison javellin skill in Diablo 2).
- The player now turns grey when out of ammo. Feedback said it was hard to tell how much ammo you had left. I tried various UIs and even redesigns of the main character, but shots fill and empty so often it was distracting. A no-ammo-state is the best compromise I can offer.
- The UI for shots and hearts now fills-in unreachable slots for that level.
- FOG has been nerfed to spawn 4 shots (down from 5).
- ZIP has been removed: Shots must offer a better alternative to SAD. I watched someone struggle to use ZIP to dig through regen-blocks because it got shifted into their 1st slot. It made me consider the times I had skipped ZIP because it lacks the range of any normal shot and it doesn't have the reward of a melee attack like ARC. The fact that it transformed your standard jump into something new also makes the game harder to learn. At least FLY doesn't force you to travel sideways or catch you off-guard whilst panicking as the lava rises.
- More chunks and bug fixes.
