New shots and a new mechanic in this update.

  • Rot is basically poison. One's rot status increases the longer you're in contact with a rotted tile - then you take damage. In practise it's easy to avoid taking damage but you're forced to keep moving.
  • ROT shot creates a rot surface, if the tile it hits survives.
  • HUL creates a shield around the player that breaks on contact and deals damage. Because you jump whilst activating the shot, this plays out like a variant of ZIP, but with more control and the ability to goomba stomp enemies.
  • TRN is a variant of JOY. It turns 90 degrees every time you press fire.
  • I've grown fond of the meta-altar. It now appears as a lantern near the starting hut when you trigger its spawn condition, with all the bespoke art that entails.

Rot was a great mechanic to make levels with, letting me add more accessible levels to the chunk list. Which is why there are more chunks added than usual in this build (as well as bug fixes).
