After a live playtest I made a lot of changes. The first is an easier level 0.
The second is no more swapping shots at the altars. What new players would do is get a new shot, press fire to see what changed, and then end up swapping back to SAD.
Level chunks are now pulled from a deck with a lot of extra rules to draw the easiest first and hold back repeats. Shot pickups are distributed so the spiciest are furthest down. Five new shots are in this version, including drills, fans, and bunnies.
Big Nose (I don't have a name for the thing you play) moves a tiny bit faster. Their sluggish speed came from the Pico-8 prototype where any speed other than whole pixels led to jitter. All it took was one complaint to try out +1/4px extra .
