I love it. Simple and original at the same time. I just purchased it. I invite you to try my game as well. Here is the link: https://philippeanto.itch.io/pipo-vs-troll

Lots of fun!

i hate the mechanic of ranged gathering, im trying to move left not pick up a letter

I tried melee range to begin with and you just lose health all the time. Ranged was the solution that worked best for the sort of person finding this game.

For a future game where you hit things in an order I'd give you different range weapons. And it wouldn't be words it would be spells. But I thought of all this like a week after 7DRL finished so here we are.

i was more complaining about how it forces me to be unable to move no matter how far away they are

I bought Wordrl after seeing an introductory article about denfaminicogame on Twitter.

I also sent a message to ask for permission to distribute and upload videos of me playing the game on YouTube.

We apologise for the sudden request.

No apology needed.

Anyone can make Let's Play (gameplay) or review videos of Wordrl - or any of my other games - and distribute / upload those videos free of charge.

Thank you!

I'm thrilled that a roguelike game merged with Wordle is so much fun.

Very cool idea. <3

The spells seem to do nothing upon pressing 1, 2, or 3. What are they supposed to do?

You have to collect spells before you can use them.

The 1st spell appears after you have defeated one word.

If using the spell would provide no benefit then the spell will not be cast. (Eg: Casting ❤ when you have full Health.

Okay, I thought there was a bug because I acquired multiple spells across all of my playthroughs but have never been able to trigger them. Perhaps some sort of reactionary "This spell won't do anything at this time" or something might help, because I've never been able to get any to work. Anyways, interesting game! I'll try the spells again later.

I cannot reproduce this issue.

If you collect a spell you can press number keys 1, 2, or 3 to activate them. If they cannot be cast there is a noise and a red cross will appear over the spell. The numpad keys will be affected by numlock so you may want to use the main keyboard numbers.

Example: This is the randomise spell being cast by pressing the 1 number key.

All right, I now see that the downloadable PC version works just fine; it's the browser version that's at fault (either that or Edge 99.0.1150.39 or Win10 21H2). Thanks and sorry, I should've tested that earlier!

I tried Edge on Win10 and it still works for me. Don't know what's going on but glad the desktop version works for you.

We'll see if anyone else has the same issue.

Nice fusion! And very cleanly polished implementation. I like it!

Another great game, as always. My best so far: 18 words.

This is such a dope concept!  I like the depth that this game has with both trying to wrangle letters together while not hitting more than you can handle, and the minimalist style looks so elegant and cleannn. c:

I’m glad to see the Wordle and roguelike universes collide. This is really elegant; I love how the game gets harder as you make more guesses. Better get the answer quickly, or life becomes pretty difficult.
